    • Vitamin D plays an important role in maintaining immune function.
    • This study investigated the association between serum vitamin D levels and the risk of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza infection among healthcare workers, 96% of whom had received a COVID-19 vaccine and 88% an influenza vaccine.
    • No association was found between serum vitamin D and the risk of SARS-CoV-2 or influenza infection.
    • Among vaccinated individuals, higher vitamin D levels may not confer additional protection against the SARS-CoV-2 and influenza infection.
