I did a homestay with a nomadic family in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. My journey began on October 27, 2019, when I arrived at Chinggis Khaan International Airport after a long 14-hour trip due to a flight delay. I stayed at Alfa Hotel Mongolia, which was clean and affordable.
The next day, I met my host, a Mongolian woman, and then we traveled to the Gobi Desert. Along the way, we stopped at a sacred stone pile called an “ovoo,” and I had lunch at a remote restaurant, enjoying a traditional dish called “tsuivan.”
After arriving at the desert, I rode a camel and later headed to the host family’s home, where we enjoyed activities like horseback riding and cooking together.
